Guide pulley. Fit new guide pulley. Tighten nut . Tightening torque: 37 Nm. Fit new tensioner pulley. Finger tighten bolt. Insert suitable locking tool (6 mm) in high-pressure fuel pump. Ensure camshaft sprocket locking tool located correctly. Fit timing belt loosely to sprockets, guide pulley and tensioner pulley.

I have tried to confirm if my car has a belt or chain for the camshaft, as I have seen on this forum that the 2.0 diesel has a chain and a belt ( one for inlet and one for exhaust). I have seen the cam belt belt being changed on you tube on a 2.0 diesel Kuga and a 2.0 diesel Focus, but there did not appear to be a chain, just a belt. Far too long. Presumably this is a 1.9 diesel with the VW engine. Needs changing at 60k miles together with tensioner and waterpump. If it's a 2.0 litre petrol, then that is chain cam and the chain should not need changing. Answered by Honest John on 15 November 2011.
