Reviews (0) Description Featuring improved upper materials for greater durability and water repellence, the X-TALON 255 is the perfect wider-fitting option for racing over soft and muddy terrain. 8mm STICKYGRIP rubber studs claw through all mud, as well as giving confidence when racing over wet, rocky, off-trail terrain and (OCR) obstacle courses. Therefore, the X-Talon 212s have a mass of 212 grams; the Bare-Grip 200s likewise have a mass of 200 grams. This is good to know especially if you prefer a lighter shoe. Inov-8s line of off-road trail shoes vary anywhere from 340 grams all the way down to 190 grams (I won’t count the kids shoe which is 160 grams).
Even with normal width feet, you will most likely need at least a half size larger to be comfortable. The drop is also smaller on the Inov-8s than the Speedcross 3s so it might feel a little strange at first but it should not bother you at all. Inov-8 makes great, dependable OCR shoes but it all depends on your feet. 2.

As a mud gripper, the 6mm lugs perform well on all but the most horrendously gloopy surfaces. On forest trails after substantial rainfall, they did slip around. However, I took two pairs of dedicated mud conquerors, the Salomon Speedcross 6s and the X-Talon 255 V2s, on similar runs over the same week and they weren’t coping that much better
